Oak Park 2

Oak Park 2 is an affordable multifamily housing community consisting of 70 units including a manager’s unit. The apartment homes are comprised of one, two, three, and four-bedroom units on approximately 6 acres. The project is the second phase of a four-phase affordable housing development known as Oak Park Community Apartments located in the City of Paso Robles, County of San Luis Obispo. Oak Park 2 was completed in March of 2016. The project consists of 10 one-bedroom units, 37 two-bedroom apartments, 21 three-bedroom units, and two four-bedroom units. Square footages range from approximately 679 sq. ft. to 1,530 sq. ft. The target population primarily consists of residents from the City of Paso Robles and north San Luis Obispo County who are income qualified. One-hundred percent of the units will be rent restricted to individuals and families with incomes ranging from 30% to 60% of the County area median income.

The project includes an approximate 6,200 square foot shared resident center including Paso Robles Housing Authority’s office in addition to a large soccer size recreational play area, basketball court, open space with a network of walkways, barbeque/picnic areas, and a tot lot for the children. The resident center includes a community/meeting room, a kitchen, and restroom facilities. The project site is conveniently located within a short distance to public transportation, schools, parks, Rite Aid Pharmacy, and a Smart & Final grocery store. Also located in close proximity are banks, restaurants and other services the residents can easily access.

All first floor units will be fully accessible and adaptable for those individuals requiring adjustments in their units for ADA accessibility.

Unit Amenities

Central heating and air conditioning, blinds, storage closet, patio/balcony, Energy Star® rated refrigerators and dishwashers, low flow toilets, exhaust fans, sink disposals, ranges with ovens, generous counter, cabinet and storage space, and solar-powered energy.

Oak Park 2 is a public/private financed project whose primary sources of funds come from Wells Fargo Bank as the investor/limited partner through the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits program, Mechanics Bank as the construction lender, and California Community Reinvestment Corporation (CCRC) as the permanent lender. Additionally, the Project received deferred loans from the City of Paso Robles, County HOME funds, San Luis Obispo Housing Trust Fund, and Project-Based Vouchers from the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo.
